privacy policy
last updated July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how parlé collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you use parlé, whether you use it on your own or as part of a program or organization. parlé is operated by Parlé Technologies Inc., a company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
parlé helps people improve how they communicate, and gives them an honest measure of that progress. The value of that measure depends on trust. This policy is written to be clear about what we do with your data, what we do not do with it, and who can see it.
the short version
For readers who want the essentials before the detail:
- What we collect. Your account details, your onboarding answers, the company and offering details you provide for sales practice, your recordings across every mode, the transcripts generated from them, and your parlé Score with the underlying delivery signals.
- What we do with AI. We use AI to transcribe your sessions, to power the practice personas and coach, and to generate coaching insights. We do not use your recordings, transcripts, scores, or answers to train or test any AI model, our own or a third party’s.
- Who can see your data. You. If you use parlé through a program, the administrators of that program can see your data, and no one in another program can. A limited number of authorized parlé staff can access data to operate and support the service.
- How we keep it safe. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted by role, and each program’s data is kept logically separate from every other program’s.
- Your content stays confidential. Your pitches and practice sessions are treated as confidential business information. We never sell your data and never share it with advertisers.
- Your control. You can request access to your data, correction of it, or deletion of your account at any time by contacting hello@joinparle.com.
what parlé includes
parlé is a single platform with four practice modes. This policy covers all of them, whether you use parlé individually or through a program.
- Pitch Mode. You record and refine a pitch and receive a parlé Score.
- Investor Mode. You hold a live practice conversation with an AI investor persona. Your handling of the conversation is scored.
- Sales Mode. You hold a live practice conversation with an AI prospect persona tailored to your company and market. You are scored on your own moves, not on whether the AI agrees with you.
- Sales Coach. A voiced trainer that helps you prepare. It gives guidance only and produces no score or grade.
who this policy covers
This policy applies to everyone who uses parlé, however you came to it.
- Individual users. Anyone who uses parlé on their own account to practice and track their progress.
- Members of a program or organization. People who use parlé as part of a group, such as an accelerator cohort, a university or school program, a bootcamp, or a company team. Throughout this policy we call any such group a program.
- Program administrators. The people who run a program and review their members’ progress, such as accelerator leads, university or course instructors, or team managers.
what we collect
We collect the following categories of information, and nothing beyond what the service needs to function.
- Account information. Your email address, first name, and, if you join through a program, the program you belong to. Account creation and sign in are handled by our authentication provider.
- Onboarding responses. The answers you give when you set up your account, which may include your company name, stage, pitch focus, and the communication goals you want to improve.
- Company and offering profile. For Sales Mode, the details you provide so we can build a realistic scenario, such as your industry or vertical, your product or service, and your target customer. This profile is used only to make your practice relevant.
- Recordings. The audio you record across every mode, including your side of live conversations with the AI investor and prospect personas and with the sales coach.
- Transcripts. The written transcripts we generate from your recordings so they can be analyzed.
- parlé Score and delivery signals. In scored modes, your parlé Score and the underlying measures computed from each session, such as confidence, fluency, adherence, and clarity, along with your score history over time. Sales Coach sessions produce coaching only and are not scored.
- Usage information. Basic information about how you interact with the platform, such as sessions completed and features used, which helps us keep the service reliable.
- Technical information. Standard information such as browser type, device type, and diagnostic data used to operate and secure the service.
- Billing information, where applicable. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by our third-party payment provider. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
how we use it
We use the information above only for the purposes below:
- To transcribe your sessions and compute your parlé Score and delivery signals in scored modes.
- To run realistic, configurable practice conversations with the AI investor and prospect personas.
- To provide voiced guidance in Sales Coach, which produces coaching only and no score.
- To generate coaching insights and feedback that help you improve.
- If you are part of a program, to produce progress reports for that program’s administrators, drawn from your onboarding answers and session history.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the platform.
- To communicate with you about your account and the service.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
how your data flows
Each mode records your voice and follows a similar path. Using a live session in Investor, Sales, or Sales Coach mode as the example:
- As you speak, your audio is sent to our transcription provider, which returns a transcript.
- Our AI provider uses that transcript to drive the persona’s next response, or in Sales Coach, the coaching guidance.
- The persona or coach reply is spoken back to you using synthetic audio generated by our voice provider from parlé’s own scripts.
- In scored modes, parlé computes your parlé Score and underlying signals from the transcript and from features of your audio. Sales Coach produces no score.
- Your recordings, transcripts, and any scores are stored securely and associated with your account.
Your own audio is sent only to the transcription provider. It is never sent to the voice provider, which receives only parlé’s scripts in order to speak the persona or coach lines back to you.
artificial intelligence and model training
This is the question we are asked most, so we want to be precise.
We do not train or test models on your data. parlé does not use your recordings, transcripts, parlé Scores, onboarding responses, or sales profiles to train, fine tune, test, or improve any artificial intelligence model, whether our own or a third party’s. We also do not use your content to test or develop the product itself.
Our AI providers act on our instruction only. We engage a small number of specialist providers to perform defined tasks. Each provider receives only the data needed to perform its task, and each is engaged under terms that limit use of that data to providing the service to parlé. We deliberately use the paid, top tier plans of these providers, under which your data is not used to train or test their models, and we configure our accounts so that your data is not retained for those purposes.
What each provider does with your data:
- Transcription provider. Receives your session audio and returns a transcript. Our account is configured so your audio is not used to train or test its models.
- AI analysis provider. Receives your transcript and returns persona responses, coaching, and insights. Under its commercial terms, inputs sent through its interface are not used to train or test its models.
- Voice provider. Generates synthetic persona and coach voices from parlé’s scripts. Does not receive your recordings.
the parlé Score and how it is used
In Pitch, Investor, and Sales modes, parlé produces a parlé Score from your session. The Score is a single, consistent measure applied the same way across every program and session, which is what makes it comparable over time. It is not tiered or reconfigured per program. The scoring logic and standard belong to parlé.
The Score supports human judgment, it does not replace it. The Score is a development measure. Where parlé is used inside a program, the organization running it, not an algorithm, makes decisions about that program. You can ask how your Score was determined.
Sales Coach produces no score. It exists to help you prepare, and its sessions are used only to give you guidance.
confidentiality of your pitch and sales content
Your pitches and practice sessions often contain sensitive business information, such as unannounced products, fundraising plans, pricing, and the customers you are trying to win. We treat this content as confidential. We do not disclose it outside your program, and we do not use it for any purpose other than delivering parlé to you and, where applicable, the organization running your program. It is never sold, and never shared with advertisers.
who has access
Access to your data is governed by role, and by strict separation between programs.
- You. You can always see your own recordings, transcripts, scores, and reports.
- Individual accounts. If you use parlé on your own account, only you and authorized parlé staff can access your data.
- Program administrators. If you use parlé through a program, the administrators of that program can view its members, including onboarding responses, session activity, parlé Scores, and progress reports, so they can support your development and evaluate the program. They cannot see members or data in any other program.
- parlé staff. A limited number of authorized parlé personnel can access platform data to operate the service, provide support, investigate issues, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Internal access follows the principle of least privilege, meaning staff are given the minimum access needed for their role.
- Program isolation. Each program’s data is kept logically separate. Members and administrators can only reach data belonging to their own program. No one’s sessions, scores, or answers are visible to anyone outside their program, apart from the authorized parlé personnel described above.
how we keep your data safe
We protect your information with a combination of technical and organizational measures:
- Encryption. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers.
- Access controls. Role based controls separate individual users, program administrators, and parlé staff, and enforce the program isolation described above.
- Managed identity. Account creation and sign in are handled by a dedicated authentication provider, so credentials are managed under specialist security controls.
- Least privilege. Internal access to production data is limited to authorized personnel who need it for their role.
- Maintained infrastructure. We run on established cloud platforms and keep our dependencies and infrastructure current.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We continue to strengthen our practices as parlé grows, including working toward formal, independently audited security standards.
our service providers
parlé is built on the trusted providers below. Each receives only the limited data needed to perform its function, and each is bound by its agreement with parlé.
- Hosting and application platform. Runs the parlé application.
- Database and storage. Stores account, session, transcript, score, and report data.
- Authentication. Manages account creation and sign in.
- Transcription. Converts session audio into transcripts.
- AI analysis. Powers persona responses and analyzes transcripts to produce coaching insights.

We give organizations that run programs advance notice before we add a new provider that will process their members’ data. A current, named list of our providers is available on request, and we will update this policy if we make material changes to the providers we rely on.
aggregated and de-identified data
We may create aggregated and de-identified data from activity on parlé, for example to build communication benchmarks, understand trends, and improve the product. This data is stripped of information that could reasonably identify you. We do not sell it, we do not attempt to re-identify it, and we do not use it to train or test artificial intelligence models.
where your data is stored and how long we keep it
Your recordings, transcripts, scores, sales profiles, and onboarding answers are stored in our managed database and file storage, which is hosted in the United States. This is described further under international data transfers below.
- Individual accounts. We retain your data while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time, and we will delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep it for legal or regulatory reasons.
- Programs. If you use parlé through a program, then at the end of your program we send your data to you. If you are not moved into another program and do not transfer to your own paid parlé account, your information is deleted 60 days after the program ends, unless we are required to keep it for legal or regulatory reasons.

To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@joinparle.com.
our role and your organization’s role
When we handle member data on behalf of an organization that runs a program, such as an accelerator, university, or company, parlé acts as a service provider to that organization. The organization decides who joins its program and how the resulting reports are used within it. parlé processes the data to deliver the service and does not use it for any independent purpose beyond operating, securing, and improving the platform. Organizations can request a data processing agreement that sets out these responsibilities in detail.
security incidents
If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will investigate promptly, take steps to contain and remediate it, and notify affected users, affected organizations, and any regulators where required by applicable law, including the breach reporting obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
international data transfers
parlé is based in Canada, and our infrastructure and several of our providers process data in the United States. Where your personal information is transferred outside your own country, it remains protected by contractual safeguards with those providers, by the security measures described in this policy, and by applicable law. By using parlé, you understand that your information may be processed in these locations.
cookies
parlé uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies.
children’s privacy
parlé is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
canadian privacy law and accountability
As a company based in Ontario, Canada, we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and applicable Ontario privacy law. We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.
We have designated a privacy contact who is accountable for how parlé handles personal information, reachable at hello@joinparle.com. If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the service or by email, and we will update the date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of parlé after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
